1974 - K&S Associates was founded by Bob King and Tom Slowey.
1982 - K&S became an Accredited Dosimetry Calibration Laboratory (ADCL) accredited by the American Association of Physicist in Medicine (AAPM)
1987 - Richard Hardison joins K&S as a Survey Meter Technician.
1990 - Phil Green joins K&S as an electronics technician to perform pre-calibration tests on instruments submitted for calibration. Phil received his training in electronics while serving in the United States Air Force.
1994 - K&S was accredited by the Health Physics Society (HPS) to provide radiation survey instrument calibrations for Cesium-137 for rates from 0.5 mR/h to 1000 R/h.
1999 - Paul Sappenfield joins K&S being responsible for calibrating therapy and diagnostic dosimetry equipment. He served in the United States Navy as an electronic technician on a nuclear submarine.
2001 - K&S Associates became accredited by The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation - A2LA.
Effective January 1st, 2009, K&S became a wholly owned subsidiary of PTW-Freiburg - the German manufacturer of high-quality dosimetry and QA equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic radiation machines. While this change substantially increases the resources of K&S, the company remains an independent accredited entity and continues to provide services for all customers and all types of instruments.
2010 - Vivian Denton retires from K&S. Peter Gordon assumes the role of Vice President and General Manager for K&S Associates.
January 2011 – Christopher Zachary joins K&S in the position of Electrometer Calibration Technician. Mr. Zachary holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics from Houston Baptist University. He is currently pursuing his PhD.
March 2011 – Jason Hafendorfer joins K&S in the position of Staff Physicist. Mr. Hafendorfer holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics with Minor in Mathematics from the University of Kentucky.
Sept 2011 – Diana Borja joins K&S in the position of Staff Physicist. Diana holds a Masters of Science in Medical Physics from the University of Santo Tomas and a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communication Engineering. Mrs. Borja in the past worked as a Health Physicist with the Bureau of Health Devices and Technology, Department of Health in the Philippines.
May 2012 – K&S Associates, Inc. is awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors Inc. (CRCPD) for 12 years of support.
August 2012 – Angela Roper joins K&S in the position of Calibration Physicist. Ms. Roper holds a Masters of Science in Health Physics and a Masters of Science in Medical Physics from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics.
