• 1974: K&S Associates, Inc. is founded by Bob King and Tom Slowey
  • 1978:  Bob King sold his interest in K&S Associates, Inc. to Tom Slowey.
  • 1980:  K&S Associates, Inc. services over 100 institutions in Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama and Mississippi and provides clinical medical physics and treatment planning consulting services to local area cancer centers.
  • 1981: The calibration laboratory is built.  K&S Associates, Inc. applies for AAPM accreditation.
  • 1982:  The lab is completed in the mid-summer of 1982 and is accredited by the AAPM in September of 1982.
  • 1987:  The AAPM extended the accreditation of the K&S Associates, Inc. to be an Accredited Dosimetry Calibration Laboratory (ADCL) to include low dose rate (LDR) brachytherapy calibrations.
  • 1992:  The AAPM accredited K&S Associates, Inc. for high dose rate (HDR) Iridium-192 calibrations of well chambers.
  • 1994:  K&S Associates, Inc. is accredited by the Health Physics Society (HPS) to provide radiation survey instrument calibrations for Cesium-137.
  • During that same year the Diagnostic X-ray Dosimeter Calibrations are expanded to included diagnostic beams (3 phase, 12 pulse) at diagnostic rates (0.5 to 5 R/s) and extended to mammography with both W/Al and Mo/Mo beams. Noninvasive kVp meter calibrations for both mammography and general radiography were also added.
  • 2001:  The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) accredits K&S Associates, Inc.
  • 2014:  K&S Associates, Inc. is sold to private investors.  The new President and Laboratory Director is Kim R. Working, MS, DABR . K&S Associates, Inc. is an independent laboratory.
  • 2015:  K&S Associates, Inc. purchases a remote HDR after-loader system to provide expedited in-house re-entrant well chamber calibrations.
  • On 17 March 2017, K&S Associates, Inc. was officially designated by the the US Department of Veteran Affairs as an official Veteran Owned Small Business.
